Meet the Consultant
We have a new monthly feature, Meet the Consultant. A chance for
you to get to know us Consultants a little bit better! This month
we meet Jan, Consultant on our Support Division.
What did you do before you joined Impact?
After graduating from LCC, I went onto work as a PR/Events
Assistant for Bodymetrics in Selfridges - it was one of the best
experiences for someone fresh out of Uni as it threw me straight
into the deep end. What I loved was the events side of the role and
I was in charge of 2 large campaigns which was amazing! I then went
onto work for Mungo & Maud as a PR Coordinator before joining
Why did you decide to work in recruitment?
I wanted to find a role that would push me out of me comfort
zone and gave me the variety and pace that I was craving. A few of
my friends are in recruitment (although the Finance side….I wasn't
too keen!) and they all highly recommended it so I gave it a shot!
Recruitment is also a very autonomous career - you can really be
your own boss!
What clients have you been working on
Amazing Amazing ones! All my clients have their own unique
selling points and ranges from Leo Burnett, to Ogilvy Healthworld
and most recently Karmarama. I also work with many digital/creative
and design agencies. The key is to really be passionate about the
clients you recruit for!
What have you enjoyed most recently?
Meeting interesting and very wild candidates - it really is as
fun as you want it to be. I also love that my client base has
become incredibly diverse.
What do you look for in a candidate?
Someone who has a natural personality - fun, engaging, confident
and can articulate their skills in a diplomatic but passionate way.
I meet so many candidates every day that if anyone can come in a
uniquely sell themselves in a creative way it's always a plus!
What are the key challenges in the market at the
As always, the recruitment market tends to fluctuant from time
to time. At the moment, it's finding Senior level industry PA's (so
if you're reading this then get in contact!)
Do what you love and love what you do.
