    HR in the Hot Seat

What do you love most about your job?

The best thing about my job is the people I get to work with on a daily basis, both within the HR team and throughout the whole company.

What are the three things you couldn't do your job without?

    1) My To-Do list - I am forever re-writing and crossing off bits from my to-do list. It would be impossible to keep up with all the stuff I need to get done without it! 2) Privacy Screen - the privacy screen on my laptop makes sure I can be looking at confidential information without worrying too much about who is standing around me. 3) Tea making facilities - With HR positioned right next to the kitchen, I don't think I could get through the day without a couple of cups of tea!

What do you think makes a good HR Assistant?

To be a successful HR Assistant you need to be really organised. You will probably be juggling many different tasks at once so being able to keep track of what you have going on and prioritising is key.

Who has been your greatest influence?

While growing up, my parents ensured I had a strong working ethic and good morals. As I am new to HR my two colleagues, Beccy and Amy, have been so helpful in getting me started on the HR track.

What are your tips for success?

There is no doubt that at the moment it can be really tricky to find a job, but by ensuring you never say no and take any opportunity thrown at you, you stand the best chance of making a good impression. I had never even considered HR as a career and thanks to an unexpected opportunity, here I am now!

What do you do after a stressful day?

I like to unwind by seeing my friends and going out for dinner - preferably some kind of noodles! Otherwise, some kind of sport - either cycling home from work or taking part in a boot camp or touch rugby on Clapham Common.
