BACK TO NEWS & EVENTS
Our successful project Future Proofing Talent Though Diversity programme, saw Impact facilitating a tour, talk and workshop at the UKs Number 1 Media Planning Agency,  Mediacom.
A group of Year 10 students Harris Academy in South Norwood were in attendance  a Haringey to UBM Events at their amazing global head office in SE1.UBM were generous hosts
Rebecca McGovern kindly kicked off the workshop with a talk on Mediacom and the career opportunities available at agency.
3 senior members of staff from MediaCom’s Entertainment Division (TED) hosted a creative task around one of their high profile American reality series. As expected this was very well received, and the students were asked to come up with creative ideas around marketing the show through social media. All students were enthusiastic and actually came up with brilliant ideas.
The session ended with a Q&A with many questions about opportunities to work at Mediacom and as expected the student were unanimous in their positivity about the agency and we are hoping future creative leaders will grow out of our sessions!
“I liked that the volunteer were very welcoming and interactive…It was nice they wanted to hear from our ideas. They should do this more often because it has developed my self-confidence and communication skills and a lot was learnt” – Saman, Y10 Student
“I liked learning about the thought process when making new ideas for advertising companies” – Bruce, Y10 student.
A big thanks to Nancy Lengthorn and Rebecca at Mediacom who are hosting more workshops and have wholeheartedly embraced our project as part of their already hugely successful efforts on promoting diversity at Mediacom.
