With a steady, and at times stubborn, 2013 well and truly behind us 2014 is now in full flow. This year is set to be a busy one with continued growth and expansion on the agenda.

According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) studies show that the UK economy grew by 1.9% in 2013, its strongest rate since 2007. Elsewhere, the housing market has also seen significant growth. Research at the start of this year suggests that across the country house prices over the past 12 months rose by 7.7 per cent and in London this figure in increasing in excess of 10 per cent in most boroughs. From an overall employment perspective, it is good news that the economy is growing and clients are ever more bullish with new-found confidence about the year ahead at levels not seen for a number of years. Employment levels measured at the start of this year have shown a rise of 7.1% from the previous 12 months which as a result means more jobs being created and that more career opportunities are available for candidates.

Here at Impact we are passionate about the work we do. As a specialist Media recruitment agency we are really excited about the challenges that lie ahead for the rest of 2014 within our specialist fields.

The Media and Creative sectors are typically fast-paced and can be rapidly changing environments – whether than be across advertising, marketing, PR, digital, music, television and/or retail. We have deep rooted networks and client relationships across these sectors but we always welcome the chance to work with new clients who are looking to grow and expand.

Our specialist Impact Finance team is made up of the two James’: James Baybutt, Senior Finance Consultant (right) and James Morgan, Finance Consultant (left). Our Finance offering extends across all levels including part-qualified, fully qualified and senior finance roles covering permanent, temporary, contract positions. We have found that some of our most recent recruitment assignments from clients have centered around a need for permanent finance hires – with any possible flexibility to shorten a notice period to be able to start work at the earlier opportunity being seen an a major advantage. Temporary and short-term contract positions also saw a drastic increase in 2013 from the 12 months prior.
