Our Thoughts on the Market

BACK TO NEWS & EVENTS

Here we are again in Lockdown 2 and whilst we’d love to provide you with a lovely positive take on the market at the moment, we understand the reality for many people is very different. But, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Whilst many of our SME clients were slowly coming back in to the office from late summer, the effect of a new lockdown has been significant. However it seems to have had little effect on our bigger global clients, who’s offices are closed until March anyway.

In terms of recruitment, the market remains quiet and we are still seeing lower levels of recruitment activity. The Impact team are all now fully back from Furlough and once again partnering with all our clients and collaborating on the roles that are out there.

We are seeing more mid-level and senior vacancies in the industry, but the most challenging market effects are on junior level and office support candidates. With offices remaining closed and uncertainty in the market, companies are not yet brave enough to commit their resources to support or training.

Whilst there are unfortunately many good candidates on the market struggling to find suitable work, we are optimistic that this situation will start to ease early next year. With positive talk of multiple vaccines and UK wide testing slowly being rolled out it’s with this in mind, our clients feel that bearing any disasters or setbacks, many are expecting a busy 2021! Bravo.

For those businesses, with upcoming growth, it’s a good time to get ahead of the curve to snap up those awesome and available talented candidates.
